Can I copy an item if my disability prevents me from studying it in its current form?

Answer

Yes you can. Within UK copyright law there are provisions which allow for the production of accessible copies of protected works. These can be either whole or partial copies of an item, and can be self-served or you can request that a copy be produced on your behalf by one of our Reading Room staff.

If you have requested that a staff member produce an accessible copy in your behalf, you will be requested to complete a declaration form. This form declares that the copy will be for accessibility reasons and is strictly for your own personal and private use.
