Where can I find sales catalogues?

The Rare Books Reference Team are the first point of contact for sales catalogues, and are best placed to be able to support these resources. However, once ordered they can be consulted in any special collections Reading Room.
Manuscripts hold some sale catalogues which are held in the Reading Room. “The catalogue of English Book Sales in the British Museum 1676-1900” is held at the Manuscripts Reference Desk which is annotated and refers to sale catalogues held in the Reading Room.
There are also online resources such as the Getty Provenance Index, Art Sales Catalogues Online, and SCIPIO: Art and Rare Book Sales Catalogs.
